Joyce Meyers stated “Only a fool thinks he can always do what he’s always done.” We do change as we grow older. It’s ok to not like the things we did before. Everything changes from how we dress, our hairstyles, what is important to us and what is not. Even the people we are involved with can change. People I thought would be in my life forever, I now barely talk to.
As I continue to get older, I can’t do the same exercises I used to. My favorite fitness instructor use to be Julian Michaels. I was able to do a million squats, burpees, and planks, but now it is just a bit much for me now. My new favorite fitness guru is the Fabulous 50’s Lady on YouTube. So, It’s ok to adapt and do things that now work for you.
Joyce Meyers also said, “Old is a mindset, aging is a fact of life”. I know of women who are in their 80’s who are full of life and their age is not the first thing I look at when I talk with them. I think it’s all about what you do that keeps you going and being young at heart. I am at a season where I can enjoy my kids as adults and enjoy my grandchildren. I do think we should continue to strive to do better and be the best that we can in our fifties and beyond. I don’t have to look and dress like a twenty year old in order to feel important.
Change is a good thing. It’s a time to discover new things or complete things you didn’t have time to do because you were raising kids or working long hours at work. My goal is to continue to lose weight, get fit and have more energy. I want to travel to some new places and explore new activities.
Right now I am learning new skills via YouTube and a site called, Skilled Share. I am also trying to discover what purpose God has for me while I am still here.
